The projected weather forecast during the day (involving both rain and hail) will create unsafe conditions for the visiting public in our railyard. As a result, Erie Turntable has opted to cancel this event. While the railyard will remain closed during the day, the weather should improve by the evening, and the Port Jervis Food Truck & Fireworks Festival is still scheduled to occur at Riverside Park starting at 5PM.
Operation Toy Train and the Dining Car Society will have their railroad equipment open to the public from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. The theater/gift shop boxcar, dining car, and commuter coach will be open, and Turntable Train Rides will be operated with the caboose and one of our vintage diesel locomotives. Admission is free, but donations to support the Erie Turntable’s ongoing preservation efforts are highly encouraged.
Starting at 5PM, festivities will move to nearby Riverside Park for the Port Jervis Food Truck & Fireworks Festival, where locals and residents can enjoy good food and watch the fireworks over Point Peter.
